Amazing Shakes

St. Matthew’s students in grades 6th-8th participate in a contest called the Amazing Shakes, where the students are tested on their business skills. It consists of 4 rounds where students are put into different business scenarios within the community.

For example:

Round 1 involves job interview questions and a firm handshake. In round 2, students have to sell an item such as a juice squeezer. Round 3 consists of making and taking a business phone call. In the final round, students have to pitch a music festival idea to the Chamber of Commerce. 

We want students here at St. Matthew’s to be ready for any situation that life will hand them.
