Pies for the Pantry
St. Matt's Fourth graders made 158 Apple Pies in just 4 hours Thursday! Fourth grade was busy peeling, mixing, and assembling the pies. They also walked pies to the kitchen to get the top crust put on by adult volunteers. They had so much fun!
Just when it looked like they were going to get behind, Fifth grade joined us to help with wrapping the pies.
The pies were all pre-ordered by school families and parishioners for $10 a pie. Money raised will go toward church reconstruction after the fire last spring.
