Epiphany Blessing

January 9, 2020

Wednesday January 8th St. Matthew's Catholic School celebrated the Feast of Epiphany with a special blessing ceremony for our classrooms. Father Rod, accompanied by the 8th graders, traveled around to every room in our school, including the offices, ELC, classrooms, Library etc. and blessed the four corners of the room with Holy Water and incense.

Epiphany marks the day the Magi visited the baby Jesus. We ask the Magi, Saints Casper, Melchior and Balthazar to bless our room in 2020, marking each door with a sign that reads

20 + C + M + B + 20

Prayer: Lord God, fill this room with kindness for one another, respect for guests, and the wisdom to seek Jesus always. Amen.

Lord God, fill every corner of our world with safety, peace, and love. Guide us to the glory of Jesus our saviour. We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
