Weekly Principal Update

September 19, 2021

Dear families,

Thank you for a GREAT first week. This week proved without a shadow of a doubt that “It’s a GREAT day to be SAINT” - everyday! Give yourselves a pat on the back - for accepting change, for working together, for communicating, for choosing to support what is right for all students, and for supporting the faculty and staff of St. Matthew’s School. Students, faculty and staff were tired at the end of the week and I hope all were able to rest this weekend.

Thank you for following our Reopening Plan of keeping your children home if they are sick or running a fever.

The 7th graders did a great job at Mass on Friday (9/17) - this is the most special aspect of St. Matthew’s School and they started the entire school on the right foot!

I sent out an email regarding the emergency incident that happened at Fuel Fitness on Thursday. St. Matt’s was never in danger at any time. The Facts Family App that we will be launching will help greatly with our communication should events like this happen in the future but it is so important that the school is able to keep our phone lines clear. I understand the need for families to check on the safety of their children and we try to answer every call and question, please be patient and know that we have the absolute best in the school office (Michelle Ottosen). Please continue to pray for those involved in the incident, the first responders, and hospital staff that continued care at their facilities.

  1. Wreath sales are due tomorrow, 9/20. Please send it in with your child. The St. Matt’s Facts Family App is progressing and we will be able to launch soon! Game changer for our communication efforts!

  2. Paperwork that needs to be signed went home this weekend, please send it in tomorrow.

  3. St. Matt’s Spirit Gear will be on sale soon thanks to the sponsorship from Bliven Law Firm. We are so appreciative of our sponsors! And we will have more opportunities soon.

  4. The drop off and pick up line is working well, I just ask that more parents use it. Please do NOT drop your students off on Main Street.

  5. Friday Mass (9/24th) will be brought to us by the 8th graders and will begin at 8:45. All future Friday Masses, beginning October 1st,  will begin at 8:30.

  6. Follow St. Matthew’s on Facebook and Instagram and SHARE, SHARE, SHARE!
