Weekly Principal Update

January 23, 2022

Dear Families,

This week marks the beginning of Semester 2, we are officially at the halfway point of the school year. This email is FULL of important information!

  • Virtus Training - Any parent, family member, and/or volunteer that would like to chaperone field trips, volunteer in the school, and/or substitute MUST be Virtus trained. We will be offering two training sessions in February so we can  meet this requirement.

  • Thursday, February 10th, 4:00pm

  • Sunday, February 20th, 1:00pm

VIRTUS is the brand name that identifies best practices programs designed to help prevent wrongdoing and promote "rightdoing" within religious organizations. The VIRTUS programs empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with the Church.

  • After School Clubs begin this week. Please see the link below to sign up online. Submissions are time stamped and the first 20 to sign up will be guaranteed a spot. We will use a wait list if needed.

  • If your family is facing any changes or challenges at home, or if you have concerns about your child, please reach out to our main office or send a confidential email to Ms. Regan Hunt, rhunt@stmattsaints.org, so that the new school counselor can check in and offer support. Additionally, our students in K - 5 will be engaging in  “Wellness” class offered by Ms. Hunt once a week with topics including kindness, healthy coping skills, and communication skills to name a few. We are so excited to have Ms. Hunt on board.

  • The Student Council would like to announce our Cereal Box Food Drive going on NOW through the end of Catholic Schools Week. Boxes will be donated after a fun, SCHOOL WIDE domino challenge on Friday, February 4th. Please watch & show your child(ren) the video clip below  to build excitement and spread the word! Our goal is at LEAST 250 boxes! **Slim boxes are preferable, but all donations will be accepted.
